What did you like most about the course?

It got me back to some of my background in the art field. I come from a family that are artistic and it just help me reinforce that ability.

It made me keenly aware of things that I have seen in many homes that needed to be addressed, whether they were my listings or properties I showed other people.

What was your biggest takeaway from the course?

It made me aware that I could do this with very little financial investment on my part and make a clients home appealing and presentable with little expense and just a little team work. IT has already worked for me by getting an offer on a house, while nice, was very unexciting until I did a few things that just added some life to the home. My client was so pleased that he said I would have and come to his new home and stage it so it looks equally as nice.

What actions did you take from applying what you learned in the course?

I purchased some basic items for accessories from stores going out of business and inventoried them. I took pictures and put them in a book so I can reference what I have and what can used.

What results did you create from applying what you learned?

On the home I staged, I set the dining table with inexpensive tableware and linens but it added just enough to make it warm and inviting. The fireplace lacked any character so I added candles to the mantel and art piece of the fireplace and some large glass vases with greenery on each of the hearth. The kitchen also had some items added to add some warmth. The first showing I received a call from an agent that wanted to know if the home was staged since it looked so nice. That was the best complement I could have received.

Yes, this would work with anyone who has an eye for what is correct and what appeals to the public they are dealing with.

If you could learn about or master one additional skill to help you as an agent, what would it be?

Probably get my GRI rating since I have been in the profession for 33 years.
